Gail Hennessy is one of the leading specialists in the various types of seventeenth- and eighteenth-century oboe.  In this informal lecture recital she traces the history of the oboe family from early times, and plays a number of historic instruments, including the Baroque oboe, the oboe d’amore, the oboe da caccia, the Classical oboe and the Romantic oboe.  She plays music by, among others, Telemann, J.S. Bach, J.C. Fischer, Schumann and Britten.
